A new reformation is on the horizon. A reformation of Charismatics/Pentecostal/3rd Wave Christians tired of being blown here and there by every new fad and fashion, and discovering the solid foundation of the Scriptures, and the beauty and depth of the historic traditions of the faith. A reformation of Reformed/Calvinist/Evangelical Christians tired of cold academic sermons and passionless worship discovering contemporary music, and the power of the Holy Spirit. The new reformation is a merging of Spirit and Truth, Heart and Mind, Passion and Intellect – the freedom of the Spirit, and the solid foundations of the Word of God. Denominations and Associations like Sovereign Grace Ministries, New Frontiers International, Grace Churches International, the Grace Network, Word & Spirit Churches International, The Fellowship of Mere Christianity, Household of Faith Community Churches, and the Association of Charismatic Reformed Churches have all explored this union, as have many in the Acts 29 Network, independant Community Churches, some Vineyard churches, and even a few within the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Fans of authors/preachers such as Sam Storms, Wayne Grudem, C.J. Mahaney, Joshua Harris, Terry Virgo, J. Rodman Williams, Matt Chandler, Ian Stackhouse, Brent Detweiler, Michael Youssef, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Zeb Bradford Long, Mark Driscoll, Rich Nathan, Michael Fletcher, Greg Haslam, R.T. Kendall, or even John Piper and D.A. Carson would find a home among us. Whether you find yourself in a Charismatic Church yet becoming aware of the ‘doctrines of grace’, a Calvinistic church growing more open towards the gifts of the Spirit, a ‘Reformed Charismatic’ fellowship, or someplace inbetween, please – join in the discussion! Your fellowship is welcome!
Shannon,

I was raised Pentecostal and am just now discovering the rich doctrine of my Reformed brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for being a part of drawing us into unity to the glory of God. May we together be transformed into the spotless Bride for which Christ will return.

In a recent post regarding the Florida Outpouring and Reformed Charasmatics, you mentioned a good friend and spiritual mentor of mine as a main player – Dr. Zeb Bradford Long. He is currently the executive director of Presbyterian-Reformed Ministries International ( http://www.prmi.org ). I mentioned your blog article to him and he is interested in giving you an interview to discuss this topic further if you desire.
Please contact me if you would like me to set that up. I like your blog very much and pray God continues to use you in a huge way.
Blessings,
JLS
I’d love to do an interview, but sadly – though I receive PRMI’s literature, and like what they are up to, I have not mentioned him in any of my blogs that I am aware of. Thanks for the note, and I’ll be in touch soon!
I have a blog now! Exciting eh? Well, if you want you can read it…it’s new and I’m new to it but not expressing my thoughts in written form ;o)
By His grace and for His glory,

I wanted to let you know of the internet radio program Chris deVidal and I will begin broadcasting on Sunday afternoons in October (beginning October 12th). The show is called Gospel, Gifts, & Grace and we’ll be discussing reformed theology, charismatic worship, and the gospel. We hope to eventually interview some of our friends from Grace Covenant and other SGM churches asking them to tell us what affect the gospel has had in their lives.

Good blog. I was just wondering if you’re still maintaining it. It’s needed, I think. Hope you continue.
